We have a range of kit available which you can hire for £10 per item for the whole training season. This all meets the standards required on the kit list, and is mostly kit that was sponsored or donated brand new. We will issue this kit in two blocks, one at the start of training for the day hikes when we will issue clothing, and again before the weekend hikes for other equipment including rucksacks, sleeping bags and stoves. Soft shell jackets We have lots of really good quality jackets available in a range of sizes – there were purchased a few years ago and some are brand new, never worn and still have the tags on. These are a good options for an outer layer. | |
Thick fleece jackets An alternative outer layer, we have plenty of very warm fleece jackets available. | |
Microfleeces Ideal as a mid layer, we have lots of these in a range of sizes | |
Walking trousers We have some walking trousers available, but only a small number and limited sizes, so we may not have something for everyone. | |
Base layers We have a few wicking base layers available, but again only a limited range so we may not have your size | |
Gaiters We have a few pairs of gaiters available. These are an optional item, but help to keep your feet dry and your trousers clean. | |
Large rucksacks We have a good selection of large rucksacks suitable for the weekend hikes. | |
Sleeping bags We have good quality sleeping bags for the weekend hikes. They are lightweight and pack down very small. We’ll also provide a fleece liner to make sure they are extra-warm. | |
Stove and pots We have several sets of gas stoves and lightweight pots. Gas isn’t included so you’ll need to provide that. |
